Weekly Newsletter Quarter 3 Week 3 1/27-1/31

Spalding: This week in Spalding scholars are working on 29 words and studying phonograms.

Grammar/Writing: In Grammar scholars will learn about the subject of a sentence. In Writing they will be labelling sentences in a paragraph. 

History: This week we will continue learning about the Constitution, we will make our own class Constitution. 

Science: We will be continuing to learn about electricity and the sources that come from it. 

Math: This week scholars will be finishing length by comparing lengths with word problems. 

Literature: This week we are finishing our classic to keep, "Little House, Big Woods".

This week we are continuing: "Bed in Summer" by Robert Louis Stevenson. Please have your scholar practice at home, they will recite February 5th-6th. 

We will also be introducing our new saying "Get a taste of your own medicine."

Spalding: This week in Spalding scholars are working on 10 words and studying phonograms.

Grammar/Writing: In Grammar and Writing scholars will learn about the subject of a sentence and they will be labelling sentences in a paragraph. 

History: We will continue learning about how the Constitution, why it was made and who made it. 

Science: We will be continuing to learn about electricity and how currents are used in electricity. 

Math: This week scholars will be continuing our length lesson with learning inches, feet and comparing lengths with shorter or longer. 

Literature: This week we are continuing our classic to keep, "Little House, Big Woods".

Weekly Newsletter Quarter 3 Week 1 1/13-1/17

Spalding: This week in Spalding scholars are working on 19 words and studying phonograms.

Grammar/Writing: In Grammar and Writing scholars will learn about the subject of a sentence and they will be labelling sentences in a paragraph. 

History: We will start learning about how the Constitution was written and came about.

Science: We will be introducing electricity and magnetism. Students will be able to identify what they can do with electricity and without. 

Math: This week scholars will be diving into our next chapter, length. They will learn how to measure and estimate in meters and centimeters with a ruler and meter stick. 

Literature: Scholars will continue reading "Little House, Big Woods".

This week we are introducing: "Bed in Summer" by Robert Louis Stevenson.
