Weekly Newsletter Quarter 1 Week 9 10/7 - 10/11

 Spalding: This week in Spalding we are working on 19 words and studying phonograms.

Grammar/Writing: In Writing they will continue narration for summary and creating a sentence to copy. In Grammar they will be learning about adjectives as a part of speech this week.

History: Scholars will be focusing on getting ready for their science quiz on Thursday and start exploring the Culture of Japan when we return from Fall break.

Science: Scholars will complete their study of land and water and the effects it has on our world. They will have a quiz on Thursday October 10th.

Math: This week scholars will be learning how to subtract fluently within 20s.

Literature: In literature this week we are continuing our classic to keep "The Courage of Sarah Noble," and have a quiz on Chapters 1-4 on Tuesday October 8th.

We are reviewing our poem "The Secret" and reciting in class on October 9th-11th

We are still practicing the saying "Don't Judge a book by its cover"

Reminders and Updates

We are reciting "The Secret" on October 9th-11th. Please continue to practice at home.

If possible, please remember to send your scholar with a snack for Lyceum and a plastic water bottle for throughout the day.

 If your scholar is Upper school carline pick up in the afternoon, please make sure they have book to read in the MPR.
